Alright, I put Soup's suggestions into effect, and as a result, we have a new layout for the forum. Here are the changes:

-General category moved to top of page
-Questions and Answers and Suggestions forums merged into Support forum
-Two subforums in The Pokemon MMO made into full forums
-Pokemon category renamed Pokemon MMO
-Ideas and Updates forum renamed as Design Headquarters
-Battledex forum renamed to The Battle Tower
-Wi-fi Lounge forum moved to subforum of The Battle Tower
-Other Forum renamed to The Pokemon Center.
-News forum moved to subforum of The Pokemon Center

Discuss these changes and propose amendments to them here.

I'm loving the new layout a lot! There's a section on tutorials and then another section straight to helping out with the MMO. :V BRILLIANT!

are we going to get/develop a new theme anytime soon? that would be an excellent aid in making this forum look cleaner. this high-contrast deal hasn't been working out for me.

I love the colors, honestly. The banner needs some updating, but other than that I'm fairly pleased with the design.

I like this theme, but I'm willing to change it if something else looks decent. :V

But if someone has a better theme made specifically for this forum. We will use it.

if we want to keep this theme, some design "musts":
~reduce, eliminate, or change the color of the gigantic white border around each forum group and similar.



~get rid of the chatbox; it's pretty useless, and moreso with a larger community. plus, it's ugly.



~fix the transparencies. if any of these suggestions are taken to heart, please let this be the first one; it's probably the most glaring error on the page.

if you're willing to try a different theme, but you still like this one, i suggest acidtech. very popular generic forum theme, but rightfully so, as it's dark (for some reason, a lot of people prefer dark forum themes, and it seems you guys are of the same mind), comes in several different colors (blue is default, then there's red, green, purple--my preference, yellow, and i think orange), and has a streamlined design. replacing the logo is a piece of cake as well; see below for example.

i'm unsure if this board is phpBB2 or phpBB3, but acidtech is available for both versions. it also comes in static or elastic widths (minimanjapan, for example, is elastic; i resized it so that i wouldn't be posting a ridiculously widescreen preview), so if we choose elastic we don't have to worry about most image sizing issues.

this is a heavily modified version of acidtech, yes? the forum index looks good, but with the style mods, threads seem to look even worse than before. it would be nice if we could design a logo for the default elastic acidtech and see how that'll run.

if snakehead would prefer to keep this modded version, i could either a) get temporary admin access and tweak it until everything blends together optimally, or b) get a copy of the code and settings, and i'll tweak the design on another forum i'll make, and get back to you with the optimized code and board settings.

obviously option a is much more convenient, but i suppose if you really really don't trust me enough to admin the styles for a little bit, doing option b would be just sufficient.

Let me get a preview of a banner up before we go with logos. But even before that, I want to see this new skin. I'll be sketching Weaviles whilst I wait.

@Charlotte: I approve option A, and I'm guessing that Snakehead would too, and I beleive that I can trust you with administrative rights temporarily, so I am going to give you temporary Admin access. If I misread Snake's post and Eevee doesn't agree with me either, they can change you back I guess.
